ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Courtney McTaggart, a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with a Diploma in CBT and a COSCA Certificate in Counselling Skills from The Glasgow Cognitive Therapy Centre.

I primarily use CBT to explore how thoughts and behaviours impact emotions, integrating elements of Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

My own mental health journey inspired me to become a therapist and I strive to offer the support I wish I had during my teenage years. I bring warmth, energy, and a positive perspective to therapy, making the process feel approachable.

I work mainly with young people aged 16+, but my services are open to all. My ideal client is someone seeking guidance and confidence to make meaningful life changes.

    It all starts by getting to know each other, identifying the areas you want to change and anticipating how you will know that you have achieved those goals.

    Next, we will work together to make changes to your life through tools, techniques, talking and experiments. Remember, change doesn’t happen in your comfort zone!

    The last step is to reflect on how far you’ve come, prepare for situations that may be difficult in the future and apply everything you’ve learned to live your best life!

Face to face session

In person sessions cost £50 and will last for 50 minutes. These sessions are perfect for those seeking a safe space to talk.

Online session

An online video call costs £50 and lasts 50 minutes, these sessions allow those who have busy schedules, are unable to travel or feel safest in the comfort of their own home, to access therapy.

group session

Group sessions last for 2 hours and cost £10, they vary in topics and cater to different groups of likeminded people. These are perfect for making friends who share similar experiences, learning from others and a chance to have fun!
